Success for AER FIG World Cup Series 2011 in Japan

Hamamatsu (JPN) – Doha (QAT) / AGU Office, June 9, 2011: Big success for the 2011 Suzuki Cup, a FIG World Series tournament of the Aerobic Gymnastics programme.
The competition was held on June 4 - 5 by International Aerobic Federation (IAF), International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and Japan Aerobic Federation (JAF), at Act City Hamamatsu in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
The event was initially scheduled to be held in April in Tokyo. However, the competition was postponed and relocated to a venue in Hamamatsu, Japan. It was also decided to be held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hamamatsu City.
As in the previous year, the championship was held in conjunction with the FIG World Cup Series. The competition consists of 4 categories in the Senior Division (for gymnasts at the age of 18 or older) and 5 categories in the Youth Division (Age Group 1 for gymnasts between the ages of 12-14; Age Group 2 for 15-17).
Seven nations were represented at this year's Suzuki World Cup which 5 of them are from Asian Union which made a big support for this event: Brazil, Indonesia, Mongolia, Socialist Republic of Viet-Nam, South Africa and Thailand and Japan..
A total of 74 athletes competed in Senior Division – Individual Man, Individual Woman, Mixed Pair and Trio, － and also Youth Division consisting of Age Group 1 Girl’s Single, Age Group 1 Trio, Age Group 2 Boy’s Single, Age Group 2 Girl’s Single and Age Group 2 Trio.
The Finals on June 5th was a heated competition. The gold medalist in the Individual Man category was Mr. Nguyen Tienphuong of Viet-Nam. The gold medalist in the Individual Woman category was Ms. Nakazawa Ayako of Japan. The gold medalists in the Mixed Pair category were Mr. Vu Badong and Ms. Tran Thithuha of Viet-Nam. The gold medalists in the Trio category were (picture) Mr. Nguyen Tienphuong, Mr. Vu Badong and Ms. Tran Thithuha of Viet-Nam.
The gold medalist in the Age Gropup1 Girl’s Single category was Ms. Kitazume Riri of Japan. The gold medalists in the Age Group 1 Trio category were Kitazume Riri, Ms. Hagimoto Maya and Ms. Munemura Una of Japan. The gold medalist in the Age Group 2 Boy’s Single was Mr. Saito Mizuki of Japan. The gold medalist in the Age Group 2 Girl’s Single was Ms. Kodama Mana of Japan. The gold medalists in the Age Group 2 Trio category were Mr. Saito Mizuki, Mr. Kanai Takumi and Ms. Fukasawa Yuki of Japan.
In addition, Donations was collected during the championship to be used for humanitarian support through the Japanese Red Cross Society
